While the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation rejoices in the fact that it has been able to put back a smile on the faces of young diabetics, who were once in a miserable state of isolated existence, its efforts to provide sustained assistance are threatened by the spiraling costs of running the institution.

Amongst the lofty objectives of this foundation is to provide a shelter to these children, where they can relate to each other, communicate with doctors and counselors, avail of personalized medical attention and generally learn to cope with the challenges of life despite the illness.
